Overview

The BIG-BOSS Titanium Gold 30, manufactured by MGA, is an industrial-grade, heavy-duty and professional-grade battery charger designed for demanding commercial and industrial environments, combining power, precise current control and robust safety mechanisms.

It is engineered to optimize the performance, efficiency and lifespan of a wide variety of lead-acid batteries, and serves automotive workshops, industrial facilities and power backup management sectors. For use only in industries or service centres.

Technical Features & Interface

  • Multi-Stage MCB Control SystemA heavy-duty Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) panel for precise current management and system protection. MCB 1 / MCB 2 / MCB 3 / MCB 4 select distinct charging current levels to match varying battery capacities; ISOLATOR 4 (MAINS) ON/OFF is the master switch, providing a clean physical disconnect from the main power supply.
  • Dual Status LED IndicatorsMAINS LED shows the status of the incoming power supply; CHARGING LED confirms that the charging cycle is active and current is flowing to the battery.
  • Analog AmmeterReal-time monitoring of the charging current, so technicians can see the charging rate at a glance, assess battery health and ensure the battery draws current within safe limits. Clear 0–50 A scale.
  • Heavy-Duty Output TerminalsPremium heavy-duty terminals handle continuous high-current flow and provide a strong, secure, vibration-resistant connection for spark-free operation.

Key Benefits

  • Fast & Efficient Battery ChargingAn advanced internal circuit and rectification help rapidly charge even fully discharged batteries.
  • Universal Lead-Acid CompatibilityServices all types of lead-acid batteries: inverter batteries, automotive (car/truck/heavy equipment) batteries and tubular (deep-cycle) batteries.
  • Rugged & Durable ConstructionA heavy-duty metal chassis designed to withstand harsh industrial floors, warehouses and workshops.
  • Built-In Operating InstructionsStep-by-step guidelines are printed directly on the front of the unit for easy reference.
  • Safe & Reliable OperationBuilt-in MCB protection prevents overcurrent hazards.

Operating Instructions

  1. Earth the chargerLoosen the earthing nut, take a wire and connect the charger to earth.
  2. Safety checkEnsure ISOLATOR 4 (MAINS ON/OFF) is in the OFF position and the AC mains supply is off. Check that terminal leads and battery posts are clean, free of corrosion and securely fastened.
  3. Connect the batteryConnect the RED cable from the charger's positive (+) terminal to the battery's positive terminal, and the BLACK cable from the negative (−) terminal to the battery's negative terminal. Tighten all terminal screws securely to avoid sparking.
  4. Power onCheck the phase with a tester and connect the red wire to phase and the black wire to neutral. Select the charging level with the charging MCB switch, then switch ISOLATOR 4 ON. The MAINS LED lights up.
  5. Monitor chargingThe CHARGING LED glows once charging begins; the charging current can be read on the ammeter.
  6. Power off & disconnectTo change the charging level or disconnect, first switch ISOLATOR 4 OFF and turn off the AC mains. Disconnect the BLACK (−) cable first, then the RED (+) cable.

Safety Precautions & Warnings

  • Industrial use only – this equipment is not intended for household use.
  • Designed exclusively for recharging lead-acid batteries. Do not attempt to charge non-rechargeable or lithium-ion batteries.
  • Operate in a well-ventilated, dry and dust-free area. Lead-acid batteries emit explosive gases during charging; keep sparks, flames and lighted cigarettes away.
  • Always ensure the power switch is OFF before connecting or disconnecting the terminal clamps.
  • Wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses and protective gloves.
  • In the event of a short circuit or sparking, immediately turn OFF ISOLATOR 4 (MAINS) and safely disconnect the battery.

Highlights Across All Models

  • Amperage control technologyPeriodically check the battery and remove it from the charger once it is fully charged.
  • Copper wiringAll wires are made of copper.
  • Operator safetyAlways use shockproof gloves.
